Okay. . .

How about inelegant, complex, unrealistic, and arbitrary rules that do not 
mimic any kind of existing genre except hack and slash DnD.

I remember a cartoon in the back of a Dragon magazine where there is an 
ogre standing in front of a firing squad of archers.  The ogre is standing 
there, peppered with arrows.
The captain of the firing squad has paper and pen out and is informing the 
squad that they only have to hit it with another 12.8 arrows before it goes 
down.

And as much as I dislike to agree with the egotistical twit, John Wick had 
a good point when he stated that if it wasn't for the fact that DnD was 
attached to it, the system would be laughed out of the market.
