RE: [DL] Look a new odd thread, how many people are 2nd gen

Hmmm depends upon what your definintion of 2nd gen is.

My uncle introduced me to RPGs when I was twelve.
He'd been playing since Chainmail, and a lot of his gaming group
are wargamers and roleplayers. I've been playing and game mastering
for over 13 years.

I'd probably classify myself as 2nd gen.
I've played with some remarkable people, have gotten to know many
in the industry, and as a result no longer consider this a hobby.

It's much more than that now.
In the fall of '98, a few friends and I formed what is now
Infinet Media. In fact our first formal interview was with Shane
and Matt at Origins '99.

We are still working on getting Daedelus Magazine off the ground,
but now I know that it is going to happen. Lots of long days have
ensured its publication. We'll be at Origins again this year.

If you're at the listserv dinner, we'll be covering it again this year,
cameras in tow.

We're also looking at publishing our own D20 sourcebooks, but serious work
on that won't happen until after convention season.

I'm proud to call myself a 2nd gen gamer, but also a 1st gen designer.
