CSA gold coins, easy, nothing, they didn't exist. :)
Ok, enough being smart ###.

US/CS currency had a roughly equal value when the war was in stalemate or outcome unknown.

So, if I remember correctly the $50 gold piece was 1 ouce of gold.  That yeilds $800 per pound.  So $15,000 in gold would weigh 18 3/4 pounds.
