Re: [DL] Donations to the American Red Cross

This bears repeating, for those North of the border considering giving blood.
It's the least we can do, I think.

"Canadian Blood Services (CBS) has received an outpouring of support from
Canadians across the country wishing to give blood to help the victims of the
situation in the United States.

CBS will be extending clinic hours and holding additional clinics to accommodate
the increased number of donors.

We are asking Canadians to donate at their nearest CBS location to ensure that
local blood stocks are adequate. Donors are asked to call 1 888 2 DONATE for
clinic times and locations, eligibility information, and to make an appointment
to give.

It is important that donors come forward not just today but over the coming
weeks to ensure that the blood supply is stable and adequate on an ongoing
basis.

Blood. It's in you to give."

For those in the Montréal area, the Fire Station in Westmount has opened its
doors for a blood drive, and will be open every day from two o'clock onward. The
address is 19 Stanton St, and I know already that a couple of people from the
list (lurkers, mostly) are going this Friday.

This is as bad as it can get, but don¹t count on it.
