Fantastic stuff! I'm gonna go with this alright. Except we're not gonna
be using dice for his harmonica skill, the player is going to have to
actually play his harmonica, and myself and the other players will judge
how good his performance was and assign him a result as appropriate. When
he gets better at playing it, he can spend bounty points to raise Marvin's
skill too. :>) (for the record, he does actually have a harmonica and it
was his idea to give one to his character - but he's crap at playing it so
this should work out well for everybody)

Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions, and to those who said they like
the idea - I'll keep y'all posted on how things go.

Actually, that reminds me... the posse member who survived the last scenario
without becoming undead is a mad scientist who was blinded when a lab
experiment went awry (explosive) long ago. Thing is, it was an alchemy
experiment, and after the stuff splashing in his eyes the only thing he
could see was a glowing puddle where the stuff he'd been working on was
(it was some kind of miracle-grow gardening formula, as I remember). He
scooped up as much of this stuff as he could, figuring it was the key to
seeing again. So, traveling westward in search of a cure, he blundered into
Indian lands, where he was taken pity on and looked after by a tribe. Whilst
there he managed to find an ingredient that let him mix up a formula with
his miracle-grow stuff which he used to treat a pair of glasses, letting him
see, to a certain extent. His vision is kind of like infra-red, with
background stuff in purple and living things in green. The whites of his
eyes are purple also, and the irises are glowing, radioactive green.

So, whilst he can see just as well (or badly) in the dark as in daytime,
and can see vaguely that Dave (who spent yesterday picking grave dirt out
of his ears) is looking a bit peculiar and scary, he won't be able to see
Marvin at all. He'll be able to hear him, and hear the harmonica playing
of course. I haven't yet justified this with pseudo-physics, but I think
it'll make for some fun roleplaying.

 Right, I'll shut up now.
