[DL] For the newbies.

I have mentioned to my friends of something my old DL
group used to do for the Hell of it. We use our
characters in arena battles to see how the characters
handle combat.
Set them off at 10 yards and play actions as you do in
combat. If there are more than two, then 10 yards
apart from each person. The trick is to see how well
you can stand up to one another. At the same time,
you learn a little more about combat in the deadlands
universe. IT's great for newbies. The only thing is
that each character has no fate chips; it's a straight
brawl to the death.
I have been introduced to other ideas that make the
combat longer, but I figure it this way: if your
character can't stand the heat, get out of the
kitchen. Arena battling is fun if you wish to put
SINGLE characters up against Los Diablos. It's fun
and you get to die to. he he. Beginning characters
up against a los diablos don't have a chance. It's
cool.
I tend to think that others have done this, but if no
one else has, then there is the idea. have fun.
