also don't forget that lulem/ludlum [sp?] was available ove rthe couter.. i
belive it i in the opiate family.. even the val kilmer version of tombstone
mentioned his wife going to the drugtore to buy some..

also..coca cloa had.. cocaine in it.. and cocaine syrup was availabe.. the
syrup i believed was used for pain..

i was raised with my eldery maternal grandmother in the same house as i. she
was born in 1889, and i recall some converstaions about the 'olde-fashoined'
coca-cola and pepsi cola..

with chalk, but it never said what it was used for or
anything.
