it can hit them, and wound them and even destroy parts, but unless it hits
the brainpan. they just keep on scapin'.

picture the zombies out of the 2 recent mummy movies. blow off the lower
torso, and it can still bite and move along by it's hands and arms.

for as to what it can't affect; there are certain creatures that have
specific ways to be destroyed. for example, they can drown when their skin
comes off, can only be killed by a lawmans gun, only be injured when the
fire is put out, only killed by the light of day; et c..

i gave some specific answers in thos examples, but didn't say what creatures
they belong to, so as not to inform posses.

I would say it hurts them, but it will not actually wound them. In other
words,  you can make the bad guys roll for stun, or you can temporarily
defeat them, but I would still require that their specific weakness be
used to put them down permanently.
