At this point... he's broken out of jail after being
accuses of stealing clothes from some Chinese men.
After that, he supposedly killed a man.  The man was a
bully who tormented Billy.  One day, he had him pinned
to the ground and was slapping him around.  After
Billy asked him to get off, and the guy ignored him,
Billy got him off... with his gun.
At the end of 1877, he'd be working for J.H.
Tunstall... starting the beginning of his working
relationship with him.

This is before the Lincoln Co. War, which was in 1878.
