The debate between prestige and Core class for me was probably the
longest decision for me to make in building it (that and making sure the
word's from Doc Holiday we're just right).

I could probably tweak it as a prestige class, reduce it to 10 levels,
reduce the spell progression for one every two level (like I did with
the wichita witch), throw in a gunfighting skill now and then and have
the shootist backlash table replace the regular huckster's backlash table.

I just want to make sure it is of a professional quality.

So long as the PC satisfies your needs and tastes go for it. Me personally I
side with Fred, the Shootist should be a prestige class as it requires
Huckster knowledge and experiences.
