Re: [DL] unsubscribe

Ya know, I THOUGHT that...but now I can't get into the idea of running Deadlands Classic after running Reloaded...the bits lost are more than made up for by the bits gained. Character sheets are easier to read, NPCs are easier to make, combat's faster (not that I ever had a huge issue with original combat, but SW is about THE fastest combat system I have ever ran)...I have alternated two Reloaded campaigns and have utilized a fair number of the one sheets.

There are a FEW areas where I thought it was oversimplified, but I have converted some of the Edges and Powers from Classic that I missed.

Its good times.

I understand the desire for less mechanical complexity, but I think I would miss some of the flavor of the original system if I played the Savage Worlds version. I'm currently playing in a Deadlands campaign, and I've had the Reloaded book for some time, but haven't managed to try it out yet.

I recently picked up some of the Reloaded adventures. Has anyone had a chance to run or play any of them? I'm curious what people thought of them.

Deadlands isn't forgotten. Savage Worlds has done a decent job of catching the feel and flavor if not the actual mechanics.

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit, but Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

If the government has no knowledge of aliens, then why does Title 14, Section 1211 of the Code of Federal Regulations, implemented on July 16 1969, make it illegal for U.S. citizens to have any contact with extraterrestrials or their vehicles?

LOL, Deadlands may be forgotten, but after all it still is Deadlands and it will never truly die, it's just waiting in the shadows :)

I occasionally search through the listserve for conversations that I half remember taking place and would be useful for my game.

Anyone know who looks after gamerz.net, I think it was Afterburner that set it up in the first place, and if the archive is likely to stay around?
