[HoE] Alternate Setting Thoughts
Actually, Groskar, I've partly been eager to get my hands on HOE
so I can take a good look at the general timeline. I've actually been
thinking that it could be quite fun to do Deadlands '98. The setting I
have in mind is a community college campus. (Incidentally, I'm returning
to school after a three year sabbatical, so the setting is well defined in
my mind.)
I was thinking that the characters could meet when they all take
the same course: HIS 224 - The Old West: Facts, Myths, and Legends. The
teacher is a spry, elderly woman that spots something in these students
and sets them on a course to encounter the Abominations of the modern day.
This, of course, sets up all kinds of familiar plots that can be twisted:
Spirits loose in the college computer network, The campus vampire cult,
Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Co-ed stalks at midnight, Corrupt
Campus Security (Halt! Or I'll say it again!)...
You know, I might actually be willing to run this.
