Assault rifle bullets tumble in flight, so they tend to ricochet once they enter the body. I've read medical reports in Scientific American of people caught in gang firefights with entrance wounds near the collarbone, and exit wounds closer to the pelvis.
I'm personally waiting to see the Beretta Sniper Rifle as a piece of gear. (RI: 40, 5d10 damage...)
