I agree, and can see how that would raise fear level. But a supernatural
horror? If I'd grown up with them for 200 years, I think I'd begin to get
used to them. There are some very tangible horrors in our history, such as
serial killers, that I'm fairly use to. Even though several serial killers
have struck in my local area since I've been alive, I've never been _too_
frightened (I'm considering my local area a fairly broad part of
california). I've just grown use to the possibility.

Not saying that I disagree (or agree) with you, but I don't think this is
necessarily true. It has been the subject of much debate on the Deadlands
listerv as to exactly what a Fearmonger is.

I'm not following you on my assumption. What am I assuming? I know that
most of the people pre-2081 are no longer around, as a result of nuclear war
and the Four Horsemen. But for the people, the war is over and the Horseman
have vanished. I agree it would be frightening, but I would think that the
fear levels would begin to steadily decline.
