I love the term "Faraway Look", so many possible meanings in addition to the
flashbacks.   I see the Sykers as analogs for the soldiers who went out to the
Old West after the Civil War.  Very much the heroes who ride in, take care of
the problem and then ride off into the sunset, not really having a place in
society.  Another good source of attitude for a syker is "Veteran of the
Psychic Wars" by Blue Oyster Cult.
