[HoE] [HOE] Book Review - The Postman

just wanted to put up a quick review of The Postman - da book not da 
film !

this is probably one of the best written post-apoc books i've ever read. 
its not you usual gun toting ramboesque figure wandering the wastes 
blowing everything to hell - its actually a well written book whose 
central theme is actually on the effects of bringing hope to the  small 
enclaves of people who've survived the apocalypse. now, i don't have 
anything against your gun toting rambo type books - i love trashy novels 
like that and get a great deal of enjoyment out of them. but this book 
is a real serious page turner with an interesting focus and premise.

there are of course violent scenes in it - especially with your 
survivalists (or Holnists as they're called after their leader), and 
lots of interesting bits that could plug straight into the wasted west 
(esp Cyclops).
  
i loved it a lot and encourage anyone to pick it up.
