Good idea... I called the Pepsi Consumer Hotline . . . they said that
their product will be tasty up to three months after the expiration date.
After that the aspartame(sp?) in Diet Pepsi will start to break down,
causing the drink to taste bad. In regular Pepsi, the flavor oil will begin
to dehydrate after 3 months of their freshness date, causing a loss of
flavor as well. So it seems that after a couple of years you have
ill-flavored but consumable water...
