I must have missed your earliest post. What did you need advice on?

In this case, the players didn't find that you had made a mistake. Rather,
they had noticed a rather understated correction to the rules on Milrats,
which you need to purchase a particular expansion to even know Pinnacle
"corrected."

But I would tend to agree: GMs with a "My word is god!" attitude may get
varying results, but the ones I've dealt with as a player very shortly find
themselves very lonely deities indeed.

Yes, players should be clear that spending substantial amounts of gaming
time arguing a rules point is a bad idea - like one more night of them only
getting 1/3rd the "corrected" value of their Milrats is going to make a big
deal.

But saying, "You're arguing with me - your character gets the Glows!" makes
about as much sense to me as a character citing his player's knowledge. If
characters aren't supposed to benefit from the extra knowledge of their
players, why should characters be penalized for their players' out-of-action
actions?

IMO, if a player is rude but his character is fine, I'd address the problem
outside of the campaign. To penalize the character for a player's rudeness
makes little sense to me.

Of course, if I were making them run out of food, I suspect I'd just
contaminate their rations. Whether a Milrat = 1 day or 3 days don't matter
when all the Milrats are contaminated anyway... :)
