Who says weather in a Storm is predictable? Random
discharges of lightning, sudden grit storms, etc seem much
more menacing than a storm building and breaking with some
warning.
If they hide in the truck, it could get shorted by a
lightning hit (in HoE a lot of vehicles are electric,
remember...). In the distance they caould see Yuma. Place
like that should have it's own generator that they can fix
the truck up with...

So of the things we love
They remain here still
There is time to wait
And there is time to kill
I see your outstretched hands
Through the closing door
But it's a far better thing that I do
Than I've done before ...
