   I don't know, I think many of those doomsday crackpot types would give out 
a unified "I told you so!"  
   Seriously, having a prophecy from ones holy text materialize for all to 
see would not have an innately faith reducing event, I can really see it as a 
faith producing event.
   Another thought is about the hekants, they don't just worship radiation 
and evolution, but also have a rather pseudo-Egyptian thing going.  How about 
a non mutant, Blessed follower?
