Re: [HoE] character types
My group has been pared down since our beginning game back in November. At
the start we had a randy junker (Picture LOBO from DC comics), a Templar, a
Syker, and a gunfighter/ex-soldier based off of Snake Plisskin from Escape
from LA/New York. We currently have only the gunfighter and syker.
The gunfighter, Wraith Geisturm, is awesome. He drew very well during
character creation and ended up with some great scores (3 d12's!!!) This
coupled with his well role-played personality, make him a really great and
interesting character. What am I getting at you ask? The Syker has pretty
average scores, a lot of d6's. This past weekend they were looking through
some ruins and were attacked by some Wormlings... Wraith Geisturm unloaded
with his submachine gun, which did indeed slow about four of them down. But
it was the Syker with his "average" scores (The player was complaining prior
to this that his character was Joe Average), who decimated the Wormlings. I
figured the wormlings would pose a serious threat, which they should... but
an "average" Syker with some hot dice rolls eliminated them without either
player characters taking a single wound or wind.
The moral of this story: Normals had better stick with their Syker...
Templars...Junkers...Doomsayers... You get the idea :-)
