[HoE] this whole Huckster thing

</lurk>

This whole debate has been going on for quite some time now, and many
people have already said things that I would have said had they not said
'em first...that said, here's my take on some of it.

I agree with the new rules for Hucksters, for a couple of reasons:

1) While they seem to be getting the shaft, it's not as bad as it might
first appear - as others have said, they're basically like pre-H&H
hucksters with a +4 on Backlash, which is fairly mild for a change as
massive as the Apocalypse. If you apply the revised Huckster rules, then
it's even less of a problem. As for those minimum hands, that's not huge
- an Ace on a Soul Blast is pretty close to a "no effect" most of the
time, and the same goes for most of the other more common hexes...(but
that Air Bubble hex...who'd take it now? ;-)

2) The other main point (and this is something I haven't yet seen
brought up) is that Junkers can be Hucksters as well, which gives them a
bit of instant "oomph" when they need it. Now, for an investment of 8
starting points, your Junker is also a Huckster casting five separate
hexes at a skill level of 5. Not a bad deal, really.

As always, IYGSDWYL
