[HoE] Cool movie

Bridge of Dragons, with Dolph Lundgren.
http://us.imdb.com/Title?0194722

Set "when the future meets the past", it's a future where a King died and a
General took over for the king's daughter, and plans on marrying the
Princess. No explanation of history is made; some industrial areas look
worn down, but there's a beautiful church/court house type building.
Mostly, though, it's wilderness. Most of the soldiers carry modern and
somewhat older weapons - mostly AK-47s - and there's a heavy Asian
influence, though it looks like Eastern Europe. There's a strict caste
system as well.

Personally, I think it'd make for a good "pocket kingdom" type of place in
the Pacific Northwest area...it gave the impression of a cooler area, but
heavily wooded. There is usage of helicopters, though rarely (they're
special), and lots of jeeps and the occasional BRDM or BMP. For some
reason, all the vehicles have a stylized "666" on them.

SPOILERS FOR MOVIE

Dolph Lundgren is Warchyld, an elite Soldier for the General. You first
see him assaulting a Rebel stronghold, massacring most of them.

The Princess is supposed to marry the General, but does not want to. She
goes out into the town to fight in a kind of pit fight on tree trunks with
pugel sticks. Of course, it ends up being her and Warchyld fighting - he
defeats her and she runs off, back to the palace, where she gets smacked by
the General for being impudent or something.

She is then to be married. After an interesting ceremony - with a
mish-mash of cultures - she passes out in the middle. Her doctor tells the
General to let her rest for an hour. Everybody leaves, she hogties her
guardian and escapes on a horse. The General commands Warchyld to bring
her back to him within a week.

He catches up with her while she is close to being raped by a gang of
bandits. She knifes one of them, but the rest grab her; Warchyld shows up
and destroys them. He plans on taking her right back as she talks about
gaining a Rebel army, but she tricks him and escapes again. He chases her
down again, and finds her captured by a gang near an old aqueduct. He
rescues her again, and returns her to a nearby military base.

There things are much rougher. He is forced to break a man's arm who tries
to molest the Princess, and then calls for a helicopter. The General comes
in person, and hits the Princess upon seeing her. Warchyld walks up to the
General and kicks him to the ground, then grabs the Princess and heads for
the chopper. Some of the guards fire, and are mowed down; the General
tells them not to fire so as not to hit her.

They escape, but are shot up an enemy helicopter and have to land just
before their helicopter explodes. The Rebels show up and destroy the other
helicopter. The Princess refuses to work with them unless they do not hurt
Warchyld. He is determined to go and kill the General himself, but she
seduces him. Nevertheless, he heads out the next day, just to see a
chopper heading for the Rebel camp. Making it back, he finds many of them
killed and the rest captured...he tries to save them but is captured
himself. The Princess says she will marry the General if he releases
Warchyld, which he does, but then he sends a few elite soldiers after him.

Warchyld, of course, defeats most of them and meets up with his old friend.
His old friend and him work out a way for Warchyld to look like he's dead
to the General.

They go back to the city where the marriage is about to take place. The
Princess has decided to poison the wine at the wedding to kill both her and
the General. Warchyld pins the goblet to the wall with a throwing knife,
and a number of the soldiers join up with him. There's a fight - of course
- and the Princess is pinned under a burning truck while Warchyld and the
General fight. The General uses his sword which he always carries around,
but Warchyld gets it and kills him with it.

As you can see, even though it didn't have any
supernatural/mutants/zombies/whatever in it, it could work out to be a very
cool HoE adventure. I'll try to work one up and post it if I get a chance.
