Well the expanded Brainburn table, like the expanded Hex Backlash table, 
makes things more interesting.

Still, a fatal result can certainly occur.  given the rarity of Syker 
Backlashes (been running and playing HoE a few months, had 0 Syker or 
Doomsayer Backlashes, and one averted Syker Backlash (which involved, 
again, a Fortitude roll, not a botch).  I guess the deal is, Hucksters and 
Mads often had small effects from Backlashes, but it happened alot more 
commonly.  The rarity does call for harsher measures.

Of course, there is the other side, that says Backlashes are not a good 
balancer.  I can see that, but I personally like them.  the fact that 
almost every AB has their special "problem"  to me keeps the PCs from 
getting a cocky, tho Deadlands and HoE both are both very good for nocking 
people off their high horse...
