I thought that in HOE they had the energy to send Stone back in time...once. 
Once and ONLY once, in every universe. I got the impression that time travel 
is such a massive undertaking that once and only once is all you get. Not 
only that, but they could only send him back so far, and the WW was the best 
time they could send him. Maybe something prevented them from just going back 
and killing the Last sons, or something...
