The Dataslugs and such arent Mad Science if I remember right. Mad science was
on the decline for a long time before the war and as such plenty of things were
based in good old fashioned tech. The Palmcorders are easily within the next
decade or so Tech wise and memory just keeps shrikin' at a crazy rate. Some
things should be normal tech like this. If it was the next few years.. (sorry).
And as for Junkertech being more prevalent... well the stuff has a nasty habit
of disintergrating from time to time. Finding reliable old tech is pretty nice
too. And would be valued more by some.

I think the idea of the Manitou whompin' Junkers was kinda cooler as well. The
rules now are much more usuable and streamlined. The ones presented in the Main
book defined the term "undefined" :) The presentation was interesting. It had
more of an edge of danger to it I think. As far as feeling junky I always make
the Junkers in my Posse (have two!) try and describe what sorta cobbled together
stuff they are using and thats makes the devices feel "junky" as all get out.
One has an Old Drill body as the frame for a motion sensor with microphones
wired to the sides and a palmtop screen welded to the top for display.
