[HoE] Guns in your campaign

On of the things that has always tickled my sick sense of interest in 
end-of-the-world-games is how people are armed.  I was just rereading Hell 
or High Water and I noticed the Nuevo Baton Rouge had less than a half a 
dozen guns.

My point of interest is this, what types of guns are common in you game?  
Not just the PC's but the militias, the bandits and all the nice folk you 
have schlepping around your game.  Do you generally give fortified towns 
MilSpec weapons?  How common are the "civilian" weapons in your game.  I 
really don't like having every member of my Posse armed with Assault 
Rifles/SMG's.  What do you all think/do/believe?
