Re: [HoE] Help! [OT]

I would also recommend the section of George Carlin's "Braindroppings"
book entitled "Blame It On The Bossanova." (Can't seem to locate my
copy, so can't give page number.)

In that chapter, Carlin talks about the tendency to blame entertainment
for violent acts. One can clearly see the "philosophy masquerading as
comedy" that has attracted me to his work: "Maybe if we tone down the
pretend violence, the real violence will go away. Or not seem so bad."

I can only speak from personal experience, but I've been gaming for
fifteen years without killing anyone. (Least of all myself, as
evidenced by my typing this message.) I've also watched Looney Tunes
for most of my life and, to date, have never dropped an anvil on
anyone. (I won't say that the thought's never crossed my mind, but
that's about it.)

I see that someone else has mentioned the "Dark Dungeons" tract. Just
think, all these years of running games and I never knew I was turning
people on to witchcraft. You'd think that the Satanic Conspiracy that I
report to would tell me these things. (Do I even need to include a
smiley here? Good, cause I hate those things.)
