I remember reading that she "rode" out, but I don't remember her picking up
another horse. Maybe I'm just forgetting part of the story, but I always
chalked that one up to continuity error. Maybe I'm wrong.

In the back section, it talks about Master Librarian Liebowitz working on a
computer that occupies the sublevels of the Grand Library. It operates both
in the real world, as well as the Hunting Grounds - specifically "The Net"
where all the Tech Spirits are. Basically it has a limited ability to see
into the future. The Librarians checked on how they were doing in the "save
humanity" crusade, and found this:

"What the computer showed them was a world devoid of all life. Completely
barren. The prediction was not clear, an indication that the events leading
up to this horrible fate were still in flux....If things continue as they
are, the world will be devoid of life within the next twenty-five years." -
From Shattered Coast

This is a seriously interesting book. I highly suggest picking it up as soon
as it's available.
