Okay, I'm a woman, and I mind this cover. Not a lot, not enough to boycott
the book, but I do have an opinion. See earlier post for said opinion.
Maybe it enhances your fanatasy, but the role the woman on the cover is
playing is not one I really care to share. For starters, my character would
be cold and self-conscious. Not to mention feeling pretty stupid at not
being able to contribute anything to the adventure on account of forgetting
or losing my equipment.

No arguments here. I've played a hot chick before. I've also played a
13-year old girl and an ugly wilderness scout with no social skills. All
three were just as fun.

This is where you lose me. The way I read this (please correct my if I've
made a mistake) is that you think that if I can't handle seeing naked women
in my hobby then I should take up knitting or raising kittens and leave the
boys alone. This "boys will be boys, so girls should just shut up and deal
with it" argument is really disgusting. I've heard this used to justify a
whole range of behaviors from avoiding housework to gang rape. My
ex-boyfriend used this on me when I told him that I would call the police if
he hit me again.

No, I will not shut up and deal with it. If someone's behavior p*sses me
off, I will call them on it and tell them exactly what makes me angry. They
can either apologize and never do it again, give me an explanation that I
may or may not accept, or just avoid me from now on. But I will not let
them get away with acting like an a**hole just because "that's the way guys
are." Bullsh*t. I am a human being just like you. I expect you to act
like one. This is my kitchen, too.

>You can call me a chauvanist...

Thank you. Consider it said.

From the content of these posts, not really.
