Re: [HOE] Pregnant Roller Skates

The fanatics that keep the cars running now will just pass their Bug-nut
genetics on to future generations, and most likely the cars too. (I've got
one in my garage.) Add to that the fact that the things are still being
manufactured (and can be imported, if you want a brand new bug that's not a
new Beetle), and having some around in the 2090s isn't that far fetched.
Especially since it's suburbia that contains most of the old Bugs, and would
thereby not get nuked completely.

Also, being a no-electronics design, they still run after an EMP hit. Most
modern cars have microchips and stuff that is destroyed by EMP. So the cars
that still run in HOE are most likely to be the 1970s cars with no
computers, no fuel-injection, no CD players nor GPS units.

Heck, most VW owners today scrounge around junk piles looking for parts to
keep their bugs going, communing with the spirit of the car to feeeel why it
doesn't want to start, or stalls, or sputters. Junkers read "How to Keep
Your Volkswagon Alive."
