Yes. That would be a very bad idea! You can get shotguns with
interchangable chokes so that you can 'tune' your pattern for your
particular need (Skeet vs Turkey vs Rabbit). To you slugs, you simply put
in the non-choked piece.
BTW, serious skeet shooters would never shoot slugs from their skeet gun.
That's why you can by shotguns designed specifically for Slugs. They have
real sites, and the autoloader action is beefed up to handle the additional
recoil.

the spread of the buckshot. Would this mean you can't fire slugs from
them, since they would get jammed in/blow the barrel?
