[HOE] St. Dent

Arthur Dent, Saint of the Odd and Inane

Arthur Dent was a radio personality (of sorts) from Islington, Britain. Then
one day out of the clear blue, one of his friends, Ford Prefect, announces
that he's an alien, that the Earth is to soon be destroyed, and then he takes
Arthur through space and through all manner of nonsense.

Then he died, when all the versions of Earth died (supposedley).

The fact is Arthur never fought the Reckoners... on purpose. Some things he's
accidentaly done have harmed them, but Arthur has no idea why he's being
contacted from his quiet retirement in the afterlife.

Deed- It's really more of a state of mind then anything. If the Templar is
swept up in events he can't control, has no idea what's going on, and can't
find a companion that he fully understands or a decent cup of tea, then
Arthur Dent will bless him.

White- The Templar may summon up one plate of biscuits and one pot of a
liquid almost but not quite totally unlike tea.

Red-Through dumb luck, the Templar manages to exploit some taboo or character
flaw to garner one piece of helpful information from an unhelpful NPC,
providing said NPC has any information.

Blue- Arthur wields his blessing through the power of sheer chaos. If the
Templar is ever in a situation where pushing a button, pulling a lever, or
doing something else that requires a random manipulation of an object, roll a
d4. On a 1, whatever happens is bad- treat it as a malfunction of whatever
the thing was. On any other result, it does the bare minimum to keep the
Templar alive for this round (i.e. the randomly pushed button turns out to be
a cattle-prod-thingy that momentarily stuns the villain).

Legend- The powers of chaos are at work again. Something utterly random
happens that does something utterly random to the Templar and a number of
people (chosen by the Templar- might as well) equal to the Templar's faith
and 1d6 random sentients nearby. Whatever happens must be postive, in a way,
even if there are drawbacks. This requires a lot of creativity on the
Marshall's part- just cut loose and make up something crazy.

Vexation- If the Templar ever stops becoming confused in life, draw a card.
If a face card, ace or joker, something random happens and Arthur stays. If
not, then Arthur leaves until something wierd happens again.
