[HOE] Running the perfect HOE-Campaign

Hi guys and gals, maybe some know me from the Deadlands-list.
I want to start with HoE now and I'm looking for some advice about running and creating the perfect HoE-Campaign.
Any tips I should always think of?
Any mistakes to avoid?

I don't have much money to spare (I've got that HOE-bundle from Smith and Robards) so just tips like "first, get all the books" won't help me much!
