 Hmm ... As a Marshal i would probably say, always pay attention to your posse. Make sure they are haveing fun. Make sure they are sufficiently challenged but not so challenged that the game isn't fun anymore. This will vary between Marshal and Posse groups.
  Also use the Marshal screen heavily. It's a great device. Roll all your dice behind it. It's great for mood effect. Plus it allows you to fudge die rolls for dramatic effect and story necessity. You got one player thats getting beaten up, cut him some slack. Or are your cannon fodder guy doing to well agains your posse. Bam! istant headshot.
