[HOE] Re: Military Background

>>This is all for Banshee Sykers-

Well, what does the soldier edge entail:
Skills - these are pretty much all linked to the
"package" you pick,
some
of these apply but quite a few probably don't (combat
engineer, pilot,
others I can't remember).<<
True enough, though it's not out of the question to
have Sykers with such skills. For example, it'd be
easier to have the demolitions guy take a wall out
with plastique than waste strain. Still, you're
probably right.
>>Equipment - between the flight from banshee and the
flight off of the
Unity most sykers probably didn't get to take a whole
lot with them (I
imagine they weren't walking around in their Infantry
Battle Armor and
Land Warrior system when the accident on the Unity
happened). So while
not
an integral part of the Soldier edge, gear is a major
consideration and
really doesn't apply to them.<<
Though standard gear might not be as useful to a Syker
as it is to a GI, it's not unreasonable to allow a
Syker to use this advantage on certain pieces of
Syker-specific gear, such as the TSAR rifle or
Sykolite or something. Also, I think the infantry
battlesuit was intended to be the standard uniform of
GIs, though this is just conjecture.

>>Rank - sykers didn't follow the normal chain of
command and were not
organized into traditional units so Rank doesn't
really apply in the
normal manner. Couple that with most Banshee syker's
general HATE of
authority figures and this doesn't really apply
either.<<

Well, there was a chain of command amongst Syker, and
while they might dislike non-syker brass, Syker
officers might still have some influence on members of
their unit. In fact, Rank may be more useful to
Sykers than other soldiers; remember, Sykers of all
nationalities fought together as part of the UN
taskforce. Therefore, a Syker's influence would
extend throughout the west, moreso than a soldier who
fought for one side during the Last War.
