Book of the Dead was written with 1870's religions and faiths in mind, and
you can't really expect God/Allah/etc to grant any powers to a manitou.  HOE
introduces doomies into the mix, and they're newer.  For me, I'd say that
no, Faith in the Glow is enough of a religion (or at least depends enough on
the strength of the doomies soul/spirit) that the manitou just doesn't have
anything to work with.  It's all about the doomie's spirit, not his body or
mind.
