Well, the otaku are a race of folk who have the natural ability to tap into 
the Matrix sans cyberjack, or deck. I forgot all the info on them, but I 
know the recent Matrix books (target: Matrix, and Matrix 2...I don't own 
them because I don't like deckers) have info on them. Also, read the novel 
Technobabel for more info...and pick up the Renraku stuff...that is one 
creepy place. Speaking of creepy, the whole "Bug City" scenario, and the out 
of print, Origins Award winning sourcebook by the same name was as creepy 
and scary as anything DL/HoE oriented.
