A friend of mine, after reading Denver, thinks he's figured out what the
massive amounts of stored energy under Denver and Junkyard are for. 
Since "The Harvest/Judgment Day 2" will be taking place primarily between
Junkyard and Denver, the idea is that the two big capacitors will be used
to generate a massive EMP that will forever knock out the weapons and
machines anywhere between the two cities.  This will hurt the Iron
Alliance, but it will cripple the Combine (oddly enough, Silas is gonna
be A-OK, but that's another thing).
