Falling rules, was: [HOE] A different Harrowed wounds issue

Another option would be to take into account the location of the maiming
wound. If it's lower guts (or gizzards) then give the harrowed the use of
his arms. If it's upper guts then he's sunk. It doesn't make them tougher,
but it's at least a way to determine whether they lose the use of their
arms or not.

I've always had a bit of an issue with Harrowed's general toughness too.
It seems like they should be able to do things like jump out of thrid
story windows and not care and things like that. It's just something
that's always represented in movies and such that seems to fit with the
mold. I know they can kind of ignore it in that they don't care about the
wounds, but they still take the wounds which seems weird.

What about a new harrowed power that basically lets them ignore certain
amounts of incidental damage. Say for each level they have 1 point of
armor for ignoring damage from falling and fire and such. Or maybe just a
power like Catfall that decreases the damage they take (for each level
they take one less die of damage, thereby increasing their fall height).

On the subject of falling, doesn't it seem kind of stupid that you can't
fall 15 feet without taking damage? In my younger, stupider days I used to
jump off the first story roof of my house all the time and I sprained my
ankle a couple times maybe.

Or how about the fact that wounds are applied randomly? Wouldn't it make
more sense for them to be applied at least MOSTLY to the legs? Say that
every odd wound applies to a leg and the rest are random. So someone takes
5 wounds from a high fall, the first, third and fifth wound goes to the
leg (applies alternatingly) and the second and fourth wounds are rolled
randomly (and could be applied to the legs if they were rolled).

Here's a question, what's the highest people have had PCs fall from and
live?
