I thought you paid three bounty points/chips to buy a related aptitude at 
your highest aptitude level. That is, if you've got Shootin': pistol at 
5d12, you can spend 3 BPs to pick up any other related Shootin': aptitude 
at 5d12.

As for the penalty for trying to roll on an aptitude you don't know... the 
rules for that changed 2 or 3 times in a short period of time, and I'm not 
sure what's "official" anymore. I thought it was one die, -4/-8.
