O.K., I looked it up and we're both wrong.  On page 26 of the Player's
Guide, it says that it's -4 for an unskilled check, but for a roll using a
related Aptitude it says that you roll the related Aptitude with a -4
penalty, so I think the difference now is that you just get all your dice
for a related check.
