We did the opposite (sort of) every wound level causes 3 wind (so you
don't have to roll for it, or even tell the players), but we still do stun
checks. By our thinking wind represents fatiguing from fighting, while
stun represents the chance that any hit can "take you out" for awhile.

As far as stats go, my group pretty much just does stats on a
character-by-character basis. There's no one stat that the whole group
consistently "neglects". We have an earth syker with a d6 deftness and an
ex-black hat with a d12 mien, it's just what fit the character (and the
stats we had to work with). There's some party discussion of who's playing
what (so we don't end up with 3 sykers, unless that's what we wanted), but
nothing beyond that.
