I can't give an officialy answer to that question, although I suspect
it's "please don't," but see if your mailer will conveniently compose
a "content/external-body" MIME part.  This supposes you have some
web, ftp or email auto-responder service available to supply the file
on demand.  Your email itself would just contains a few lines of text
in a format that instructs the reader's software how to fetch the
file, and tells it what sort of content it is (jpeg, audio, text, etc.)

(I'd volunteer storage space, but my personal online quota with my
ISP is miniscule.  At work, I could store maybe a petabyte ...)
