My posse is currently chasing a real bastard of a Black Hat (there
are nice Black Hats?) named Jackson. One of the posse members found a girl
in an abandoned town (based on Silent Hill) that could absorb diseases out
of people and thereby cure them with no ill effects to her (other than
some psychological trauma, but who doesn't have that?) Well to save the
girl the posse member (Jericho, who's a Templar BTW) was forced to work
with a team of Black Hats. All of them were killed, except for Jackson,
who ran off. Jericho got Mary (the girl, naturally) to help the sick town.
But then in the night Jackson grabbed Mary and road off on Jericho's
motorbike (hee hee). So Jericho (and now the rest of the posse) have been
chasing Jackson across two states to try and get Mary back.

The nice thing about Jackson is that there's nothing especially special
about him. He's got no arcane abilities of any kind and isn't even a real
high-up Black Hat (though he's probably thinking that if he can get Mary
back to Denver that'll change). He's just a sneaky and twisted bastard
that's fun to play.

The next part's pretty cool. Jackson's convinced Mary that he's the good
guy trying to keep her from the Evil Jericho. After-all he's a Templar,
right? And they heal people, right? So why would he want you to go in with
all those sick people and cure them when he could just do it themselves?
He probably was afraid and would rather send in a little girl instead. Or
worse, maybe he was trying to kill you! As your friend, I just can't let
that happen to you Mary. He'll probably come after us, but I have to try
and get you to my friends in Denver. They'll be able to keep you safe from
Jericho and his friends.
