[HOE] The Librarian's Almanac for August 26th

BLACKFOOT, UTAH – Local residents subdued a rampaging cyborg in the town’s
decontamination warehouse last night. The individual, who was dubbed
“Peterbilt”, regained normalcy around dawn. It had been in transit from Big
Sky, Wyoming and had been heading towards the Templar headquarters outside
Boise. While skirting the ruins of the old Number Four Reactor in Arco, the
machine was assaulted and imprisoned by a group of gigantic, misshapen,
radioactive arachnids. It was bound in a cocoon of silk-like wire and placed
in storage in the bowels of the decommissioned Mackay Dam on the Big Lost
River. The cyborg managed to escape but suffered heavy damage. It also has a
hazy recollection of the arachnids forcing captured wasters to enact repairs
on the old hydrodynamic turbines.

THIEF RIVER FALLS, MINNESOTA – Flamboyance Brown, a Trader Baron visiting
from Texarkana, has put out a call for some technically inclined waster
veterans. It seems that Brown has come into possession of a datacore that
contains technical schematics for a large underwater compound. According to
him, this supposed compound could support over three dozen people for twenty
years. Brown is looking to gather up this rescue/salvage party and be at
Devil’s Lake over in North Dakota before the Wasted West’s winter weirdness
freezes the lake solid for the next five months.
