Uh, as you know, I've always got like fifty million harebrained ideas in my
head, and once in awhile one produces something actually useful.  I was
making a card game that, among other systems, used the deadlands system in
one version.  Ehh, I won't go on about the card game unless anyone's
interested, but from it came a nifty little chart that showed which arcane
backgrounds could concievably be mixed with other ones and which
combinations were right out.  check it out, but unless you're using a font
that has all the characters the same width, like "terminal", it won't line
up.

types of Arcane powers

Faith-Ability to use powers based on beliefs.  A character may only have 1
Faith-Based Arcane Background.
Channel-The ability to channel energy from the hunting grounds through
themselves.  All abilities from all "Channeling" Backgrounds are compatible
with each other, except Android, which can only be used by androids.
Androids can use other channeling powers, however.
Shaman-Shamans can venture into the hunting grounds and talk with spirits.
A character with a shaman background cannot learn a faith-based background,
and if a character learns shamanism they lose their faith-based background,
if any.
Harrowed-Powers granted to you because you died and came back.  These are
compatible with everything except androids, but ghost dancers who come back
are forsaken by the nature spirits.
Companion:This is an added bonus that people who are not templars can
recieve.
