I think you mean Amelia Earhardt. As for why the sainthood, true, but
Werner could've always fought the "Dead From Above." :-)

Ah-HAH!!!! Patron Saint of Flyers is the B-17 bomber pilot from Heavy
Metal!!!! Don't know his name, but I got the orignal cel artwork on my
wall. If you're not familiar with the story from Heavy Metal, a group of
bombers are on a bombing run in the Pacific (which is totally untrue as the
B-17s were in Europe while the B-25s & 26s were in the Pacific, but I
digress) when a glowing rock slams into our plane, causing the dead crew to
come alive & kill the remaining crew. The pilot is the only one to abandon
the plane, but lands on an island surrounded by skeletons of downed planes,
& all of their dead crew come out to kill him....
