[HOE] Templars "Lay on Hands" Reward

Just a quick question - Templars can normally Lay on Hands with a target number equal to the highest wound suffered.  Do you think a Templar could simply use his ability to simply stop Wind Loss caused by bleeding (i.e. stabilize a person) without healing actual wounds?

This came up last Saturday when a Doombringer dropped a Nuke on the party. The Syker was bleeding out from a critical wound to the guts and the Templar (who used Saint Earp's blessing to ignore all damage in a round) tried to stop the Syker from dying.  He asked if he can just stop the Wind loss (TN 3) instead of trying to heal him (TN 13 due to the Critical Wound).  I allowed it, but was wondering if other people thought this was a fair use of the Lay On Hands reward.
