Re: [HOE] Theme Park Ideas

Spoiler Space. This is Marshal-only stuff.
Now I know that John "Clowns ARE Scary" Goff wrote an excellent Dime
Novel about a theme park, but I'm wanting to do something a little
different. So If you were going to create a theme park and make it
scary (since it's sitting in the middle of a Deadland), what things
would you throw at the posse? To make this challenging, what is scary
about a circus, carnival, or amusement park that doesn't involve
clowns. I'll also take suggestions on possible rides and attractions
that I could have in my Theme Park from Hell.
Here are some ideas off the top of my head:
1) Abomination versions of the "freak show" people, like a bearded
lady, conjoined twins, the elephant man, a dog faced boy, etc...
2) A Hall of Mirrors where the warped images of the party members come
out and attack them
3) A "barker" (you know, the guy with the mustache and carrying a cane
who shouts about some attraction to get people to come over) who pops in
from out of nowhere to announce just what horrible fate is about to
happen to the posse, and then disappears
4) Animal cages full of the bones of lions and tigers and bears (oh my)
that then animate, pass through the bars of the cages by dislocating
themselves so they fit and then reassembling on the outside of the cage
to attack the posse
5) A mime (I know, everyone hates mimes) that actually tries to help the
posse by giving clues about things. A perfect time for the posse to work
on their charades skills
6) Carnival games that the party must play in order to win "prizes". For
example, one party member disappears, but then the party sees a stuffed
animal version of him as a prize at the ring toss game, and must win an
evilly rigged version of the game to get him back. Make sure to have
enough games that every member of the posse gets trapped at least once.
Hope these ideas help.
